    National and club football are totally separate. The National teams are made up of the best players for that country by their birth status, but those players may play their CLUB football in many different countries (outside Europe too). This video is about CLUB football. nothing to do with the World Cup (which is for NATIONAL teams) or the currently playing European Championships in Germany. All cuntries have several levels of play, depending on the size of the country. The big countries like England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France have 3 or 4 fully professional leagues and teams can work their way up or down these Dlevels depending on how they finish each year.

    "European" "Soccer" my arse!!! The modern game, as played all over the world, was first codified in England in 1863. And the game is called FOOTBALL because you use your FOOT to control the BALL. NOT your hands. That is all!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

    There are around 120 full-time professional football clubs, in 6 leagues in the UK (67 million pop), while the US has 32 teams (333 million pop). There actually around 40,000 association football teams registered in the UK from a population of 67 million. Every city and town has its own team!

    In the video they keep mentioning an important distinction: "club competition". What you saw isnt directly related to the euro cup you were wondering about. Of course, players who do well in the club competition are likely to be picked by the coach of their national team. But the clubs themselves do not represent their nation. In fact, most clubs have foreign players so more than half of any winning club isnt able to play for that club's national team.

    The All American film the Great Escape! No Americans were in that camp; I don't think they'd even entered the war at that time? Yet all those heroic men were made out to be American! Thats just 1 out of many incidents of the USA appropriating other countries' achievements and acts of heroism.

    (the young woman that hold up a white kind of can..... and you thought it is a pitcher): No, the electric modern version of a kettle. Not to be used on the stove. You fill water in it, place it on its station, klick on a button or switch that is somewhere on the body of that object, then wait till the water inside boils. It is more effective than to heat water up in the microwave.

    I don’t quite understand why he didn’t get the national team thing right. I mean even if you don’t know anything about football, there’s a US basketball national team and people obviously must have heard about it at some point. Olympics? World championship?

    4:04 „what is the second division“ -> there are about 24,000 football clubs in Germany. How do you think they all compete against each other? They are all competing in leagues, even the youth teams of those clubs, all part of a league system. The 1st division simply is the highest national league you can be in, you also need a license for professional football as a club to be in that league (which you can acquire though good results as in getting promoted by your competition results and fulfilling the requirements for higher divisions, you can’t just buy your way in like a franchise would do). The 2nd division is the 2nd highest national professional league. The 3rd division is the 3rd highest national professional league. The 4th division however is the division where professional clubs compete against some semi professional clubs, however most players of these semi professional clubs will mostly be professionals as well. And the 4th division also isn’t a national division anymore, it’s a division with 5 leagues on the same division level split by larger German regions so that teams don’t have to travel as far as in a national league. And after that it proceeds with 6th division and state level leagues, after that the next division is split into regions within the states and so on and so on until you reach the lowest divisions where you basically compete just within your own district or - if large enough - city. But if you’re good enough and the club grows with the results, gets more and more professional and fulfills the requirements the governing football association sets for specific division levels like stadium size or mandatory press seats then you could work your way up to the 1st division one day. It’s all connected, there is no separate franchise like league, every team competing within the division and league pyramid system can theoretically completely fall apart and get relegated division by division or theoretically grow and get promoted division by division. Btw England has about 40,000 football clubs. They have 5 divisions that run as national leagues, not just 3 like in Germany. Starting in 6th division they then begin to split teams between regions, but first just between North and South, so two leagues in division 6 and in division 7 it’s then 4 leagues on the same level.

  • @20SilverTeeth

    Soccer is divided into 2 sections. Clubs and national teams. club teams and national teams never play against each other. When it comes to clubs its like saying the Lakers or the Cowboys. The Lakers wouldn't participate in the Olympics because that just doesn't make any sense. They literally cannot do that. Clubs play in leagues .. just like the Lakers play in a league in the United States called the NBA. Who goes and plays in the Olympics... National teams... In this case "team USA".. or USA. The world cup and the European CUP are national team tournaments. So let's say lebron wants to play in the Olympics, he can, but he also plays for the Lakers. Now going into the Olympics he will play for USA and not the Lakers. Same thing with Ronaldo or Messi. Messi plays for a club in Miami, but when it's time for the world cup or in this case right now the "Copa America" (a national team tournament that is being played across the United States.. we are the host of the tournament) he will play for Argentina.. because that's where he was born and that's what he identifies as. It's that simple. The different amount of leagues may get complicated, but separating clubs and national teams is easy because they never play each other. Same thing with the FIBA world cup. Luka doncic plays for the Dallas mavericks but when the FIBA world cup comes around he won't play for USA he's playing for his country Slovenia.

    There was a lack of explanation that I know causes a lot of confusion for those who don't know anything about football. The explanation given is for all club games. In the case of championships involving national teams, such as Euro 2024, which is taking place now, no clubs enter. The football federations of each country appoint a coach who chooses the best players in the country and forms the national team. These players must have the nationality of the country they are going to represent.They can play for any club, anywhere in the world, but they will represent their country. That's why there are these crowds that are supporting their own country

    Just for reference: the German league pyramid have 13 levels with 1st Bundesliga at the top and local county level leagues on the bottom. In this system there are over 2000 leagues played out every season with over 30.000 teams compete in it. The german football association is the biggest organization in the world with over 7 million active members.

    There is no such thing as "European soccer." The game is called football, it's called football all over the world. Within Europe there are various football competitions. and of course each country has it's own national team, with people with the correct nationality. The football that you're watching at the moment is between European nations....

    This is about the club football. Every 2 years there is a big national tournament between countries. World cup 2 years later Euro cup, 2 years later World cup. And so on. This are the best players of the country. Dont matter witch team. The trainer of the National team select the players.

  • @petermaardananders6803
    @petermaardananders6803 12 годин тому

    When you win it is Football, when you lose your the Soccer ;) It's not complete but it is good enough for starters, but it says nothing about the National team's competitions. National teams have the best National players to be selected by the National team coach(ing staff) in this case for the current national teams EU Cup, 26 players (no matter in what country they play for their club teams) get selected to play for their country. There is a selection process to make the final tournament cut, but that is not that important to know. The Group phase, for the current EU nat. Cup 4 teams have to play each other only once, 1st place group winners, progress to the playoff phase. Some best 2nd placed group nat. teams will also progress to the playoff phase. Then it's a matter of staying in the playoffs by winning(if the game ends up a tie, overtime and/ or penalties will force a winner) until you play the final game and can become the European national country team champions. The World Cup ( never in the same year, always 2 years later/ earlier than the EU nat t. Cup so the next WCF nat. teams will be in 2026)for national teams is kinda the same structure, and the club team championships from the Americas (played every year)are kinda the same as the EU Champions League Cup (played every year), the world cup for club teams is decided (played every year)between the winner of the Champions League and the Copa America Cup.

    By the way, a national team can have players from clubs from different countries and leagues. In fact, they can even be free agents. The only requirement is their nationality. And, of course, clubs can have players from different nationalities. Some leagues allow more foreign players in a team than others. In the European Union the restrictions are far smaller (if any).

    Nope, the national team is made out of the best players of all the teams in the country in this EU competition, this video is confusing the EU, with UEFA team championships. you got the competition for national teams, and a championship for teams, like for instance Feijenoord Rotterdam, Or PSV Eindhoven, or Tottenham hotspurs, Barcelona, etc etc..

  • @Londronable
    @Londronable 14 годин тому

    So, general overview. It's going to be rather long. Fifa = top boss. Organizes everything on a global scale. See "fifa world cup". The fifa games until last year.(the game basically said "fuck you fifa, we're bigger than your name now" so they no longer want to pay fifa. Dumb move imo but hey) etc. We divide the world in several parts. UEFA(Europe), Concacaf(North-America)(+Africa, South-America, Asia, Oceania) etc. It's not all geography. Israel is part of UEFA for example. Australia is Asia. Now, here is what's important to understand. These regions do both the national team cups. Like the Euros, Golden cup(North-America), etc. every 2 or 4 years. AND they let the best clubs(not nationality bound) fight it out. Often referred to as the champions leagues. Club teams(just think cities to keep it simple) compete to be the best of the continent. Hence, UEFA champions league if you heard of it is for Europe. But teams from the US do compete with teams from Mexico and Porto-Rico as well. Now we get to the national level. Every country has a league(well, dozens but we're talking the top league) and every league has a "score" based on their performance in the continental competition. Depending on how high you end up the more spots you have. For the top 4 leagues in Europe. England, Spain, Italy and Germany, we're generally talking about the top 4 teams in the league getting into the competition. This competition provides a lot of cash. Not getting in several years in a row can really hurt a top club. If you're Hungary you might get one spot. If you're Belgium you get 3. etc. It's all based on your performance. The cup has different rules everywhere but basically every country has one. Before the season gets fully underway the winner of the league will often face a single game against the winners of the cup. It's technically a trophy but let's be fair, nobody really cares. Cups, the single game I just described, etc. all have different names in different countries. In England it's the FA cup and then the single game is for the community shield.(I swear, I'm keeping this shit simply people.) I want to make it clear that club football is about 90% of games most top players play. If you hear wages, massive transfer fees, etc. that's club football. Fun fact. The Asian part divides their champions league up similar to the US does their sports. An East and West. Only in the final will the clubs from Iraq/Iran be able to face a team from Japan/South-Korea for example. Not the case anywhere else as far as I'm aware. Egypt flies to South-Africa if necessary. And while touched upon, the way the leagues are structured is called the pyramid basically. The lower you go the more leagues on the same level to prevent them from having to travel too far. In England the first 5 leagues are all national(the 5th is literally called the 'national league'). But the Sixth is divided in a North and South. The one below adds a West and East, etc. until you just play very local teams which fits with the poorer clubs of course. So club -> compete in league, compete in cup. Win league -> compete in champions league the year after. End at the bottom -> get out. You compete in the lower league next year. And then we have the CLUB(city, not country) world cup. The winners of the regions basically compete against each other. Europe mostly wins, not taken seriously by most. Short tournament. National team -> world cup every 4 years. continental cup every 4 or 2. Depending on where the fuck you are. I know African countries have one every 2 years. Europe is every 4. The above is the basics and is very, very, simplified. Global sport is big. Lots of moving parts.

    The commercial with the shark tank is about the yello pages for looking up business . In this case the man was searching for glaziers for a double-glazed window of 6x8 meters, the first call: they only had opaque glass, the second call: they could be there quickly but charged extra for putty .....🦈

    This was the wrong explanation video at the wrong time :) There's 2 separate types of football tournaments, (1) club competitions and (2) country tournaments. Club competitions are clubs from different cities playing against each other (I'll ignore the fact that cities can have multiple clubs). This can be on a national level in nation leagues, or internationally with clubs from different countries playing against each other. That's what this video is about, national leagues and Champions League. Club teams can have players from all over the world. The players are contracted, they do not have to be from a certain country or city. The European Championship that's currently underway is a tournament of countries playing against other countries and has nothing to do with club football. Each country compiles a team of the best players from that country. The players need to be citizens of that country. Since the best players are being selected, these will be players that normally play for big clubs, either in Europe or elsewhere. So for instance the French player Griezmann is currently signed to Atletico Madrid, so in club football he plays for Atletico Madrid, in the Spanish leaugue and in the Champions League at a European level. And since he is French, he plays in the French National team whenever France plays either for the European Championship or for the World Cup.

      Maybe one way of describing this is that clubs are like companies. They have owners (though very often they are collectively “owned” by locals as members of their club), they can employ people from any country, they are economic actors (they generate income and spend it), and they compete against each other. National teams are more like national armies. They only ‘draft’ citizens of that country and only play against other national teams. The Euro 2024 is a tournament of national teams from all of Europe (well, there are qualification games spread over nine months carried out the year before to whittle down the number from 55 to a more manageable 32). The World Cup is the same but for the whole world. Very few sports attract worldwide attention, there are continent-wide and global tournaments of national for all kinds of sports, eg, volleyball, but nothing generates as many fans as soccer. And soccer/football is the only one which attracts truly worldwide audience. Even within Europe, no other sport attracts much across the board attention. Some sports like ice hockey get somewhat close to soccer in a few countries but not across the whole continent. Basketball is very popular in the U.S., cricket is very popular in India, and so on.

    a common mistake that makes it confusing for na people,is comparing eu countries to states,than the whole usa nation.euro 24 is the equivalent of copa america or copa africa.also the divisions are more like connected leagues and there are several tiers in each country.england has like 10 in total or something. imagine this like bottom 3 mls teams will be moved to usl,and top 3 usl will take their place. another detail is that teams compete in all those competition at the same time.

    There's way more than 2 leagues, it's all in one huge pyramid system. In England there are like 60 leagues, The top league has all the richest clubs with players worth multiple millions getting paid millions, the lower you go the less professional the leagues are to the point where they become amateur for people who have another job and just play at the weekend for fun and some side money. Theoretically those teams in the lower leagues could make their way all the way to the top if they keep winning promotions. Ryan Reynolds is attempting something like that when he bought Wrexham, he's already won a couple promotions he wants to get them to the top league (the premier league). Every single of the leagues are able to join the FA cup which is a cup tournament separate from the league system, and again theoretically any team could win it but realistically the teams with the most money and best players will win. There has been many famous underdog upsets though where a team of basically amateurs beats a huge team worth millions.

    The UEFA European Championship can be somewhat compared to the "Copa América" or the Gold Cup, where multiple nations compete in a single tournament. But since football is very popular here as a sport, it's one of the biggest sports events all across Europe.

    Every sport basically starts as a hobby by amateurs, whom basically choose this sport because out of all sports this was the one thy liked most. Usually the common people work 40 Hrs a week and so they usually train at least once (maybe twice?) a week evening after work, after dinner to gain tactics an condition, so on Saturday or Sunday they are fit to play. This of course is for those whom are professionals in this sport of a total different thing; These pro's basically train very very often and intensively, and they can since there is no other employer but this sport-club demanding high results. This is not a black or white situation--> one goes in stages from amateur step by step into paid sport pro. All of the domestic (within one country) leagues you just saw are build that way. You basically play against equal opponents. So amateurs play against amateures: 4th league , partially paid amatuers/semi pro's play against partially paid amateurs/ semi pro's (3rd league) and fully paid pro's play against fully paid pro's (2nd league) and outrageously paid pro's play against outrageously paid pro's (1st league); everything within the country. Local clubs also can play within Europe against clubs from other European countries each other within their own league obviously (so no country against country) Football clubs can purchase players locally (so within the country) at other local clubs or in other countries at foreign clubs to play for them And All European countries can also play against each other by national teams. In this case European countries call their Internationals back (By selection) to play in the national team. And then there is the World Cup which basically is exactly what it looks like: every country across the globe can apply to take place in these matches by selection. Especially Europe and The South American countries are usually very very good. I really know nothing about football, I do not even watch football now in this season, since I personally am not interested in football. I do like F1 though! So go see this video about Formula 1--> formula 1 cars, explained for rookies with max verstappen

    There are actual playoffs in several leagues across Europe in what y'all would call "post season". In England only the top two teams in the (equivalent) second division are promoted to the Premier league - teams in spots 3-7 have a two legged playoff series and the winning two have a single match for the promotion place at the national stadium. Some leagues at various points have had a two game playoff between a bottom twam in the top league and a top team in the second league go decide *if* a relagation happens.

    Should had a major rule up in front of all the steps... Its FOOTBALL, just like it says in International Federation of Association Football, aka FIFA. That been said, I see you still have questions. 2nd division: every country has ALOT of divisions, going from amateur regional leagues to national leagues. The only thing different between a lot of countries is how many leagues there are under the top league. There are a few clubs owned by big clubs but the majority of the clubs are city/town related. Playoffs is some sort of competition AFTER the regular competition is done. Basically the top 6 clubs play each other to determent who becomes league champion, the next 6 clubs in the league standings play each other for a Europa league ticket. This is NOT the champions league tho, the last 3 play each other for who stays in top league etc etc. European football is not that complicated, it just takes the right amount of explanation and interest to understand how it all works.

    Well. 1. Bundesliga is 18 teams. Only last two are relegated. Team from 16th position is playing relegation play-offs matches, with 3rd team from 2. Bundesliga. I think Ligue 1 in France is also the same system. In Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain) and Serie A (Italy) there are 20 teams. 3 teams are relegated.
